Telephone, various cable systems…this cannot be a good thing! Is wireless the way to go?

Go to a photograph named: The metalwork of the Louvre pyramids, Paris, France for a comparative view –
Is this system is based on sailboat rigging too? I have a feeling of powerful inner energy onside these wires…and inevitable sparkling burst at a wind gust. Had one wire only been removed or loosened – and the whole post starts falling with sparks and grating sounds … Wish I were there with camera at that moment
